"You'll always buy better at the Battery Center!"
BATTERY RECYCLING

The Battery Center is very aware of the environmental impact that spent lead-acid batteries have on the local community. Improperly stored spent batteries are considered hazardous materials by the environmental protection agency (EPA) and can cause considerable harm to ground water and soil.

To recycle your lead-acid battery (e.g. old car batteries), bring it into The Battery Center!

Approximately 45,000 pounds of spent lead-acid batteries are removed from The Battery Center about every sixty days, and are transported by EPA-licensed truck lines for transporting hazardous materials, primarily to Gopher Resource Corporation. Click this link to learn what happens to your spent recycled lead-acid battery.

The Battery Center's Household Hazardous Material Retailer Permit Number is: 1-31-017936-2

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources has a web site to direct you on what to do with specific type of batteries: www.safesmartsolutions.org

If you have other, non-lead acid, metallic batteries to recycle, visit RBRC's website to see where you may take them.
